Support Workers are required for homes for the elderly in Sheffield.  Responsibilities include general care duties, as well as specialist assistants to support residents with mental health issues and dementia, including Alzheimers patients. You will also be expected to help dress, wash and bath residents, in addition to assisting with meals and activities. You may also be called on to fulfill domestic duties such as washing dishes, serving and preparing food as well as general kitchen duties.

The ideal candidate will have or be willing to obtain an enhanced disclosure and police clearance form and will ideally be in possession of a Food Hygiene Certificate. The ability to work well within a team and excellent communication skills are essential, work experience within the care sector is a definite advantage.

Hours of work

Candidates must be prepared to be flexible with regard to days and hours of work, as various shifts are available.
